Mission
The mission of the Los Angeles Times Family Fund is to generate contributions from the public to address the needs of disadvantaged children, youth and families. Grants are made to nonprofit organizations located in the communities served by the Los Angeles Times. These include Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties.

Guidelines
The Los Angeles Times Family Fund, a fund of the McCormick Foundation, is committed to raising funds from our readers and the general public in support of organizations and initiatives that are dedicated to improving the human condition of children, youth, and family life in our marketplace.

Los Angeles Times Holiday Campaign
  • Food & shelter
  • Literacy
  • After-School programs

Los Angeles Times Summer Camp Campaign
  • Camp programs or organizations that provide low-income children and youth ages 7-17 with overnight camp experiences.

On occasion, the Los Angeles Times Family Fund may consider and recommend grants not included in the priority interests of the program guidelines.

Geographic Priority
Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura Counties.

Source of Support
The Los Angeles Times Family Fund raises donations from the readers and subscribers of the Los Angeles Times. The newspaper uses promotional space to request support. The McCormick Foundation matches contributions made by the general public to the Fund.

Application Procedures
All requests for support require a completed application form to be received by the Los Angeles Times Family Fund by the designated deadlines.

The Los Angeles Times Family Fund will consider grants for program support. Generally, grant amounts for full-year programs will range from $5,000 to $15,000. The Los Angeles Times Family Fund typically does not make capital or research grants or fund government agencies, religious, political, fraternal, veteran or labor organizations. Events, conferences, seminars, workshops, films or exhibits are not eligible for funding. There is no guarantee of annual support.

The McCormick Foundation does not make grants to organizations or programs that would financially benefit Tribune Company or any of its subsidiaries.
