Principal Function
Assist in all fundraising and marketing aspects of the Communities Program for assigned fund partners with emphasis on direct mail and online solicitation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain open communications with assigned fund partners in planning and executing
fundraising campaigns in order to maximize potential and to meet annual fundraising
goals of McCormick Foundation
- Develop and implement strategies for direct mail and online fundraising campaigns
including writing solicitation letters, producing weekly campaign reports, final campaign
analysis and donor cultivation/communication plans for assigned fund partners
- Work with Information Systems Department and Development staff on gift processing,
database management, and fundraising reports for assigned fund partners
- Work with Finance Department and Development staff on monthly reconciliation of
fundraising revenue and expense reports
- Assist with training of new Communities Program fund partners
- Assist with training of Communities Program development staff
- Maintain a working knowledge of various federal, state, and local fundraising regulations
- Work with Communications Department to support the public awareness strategies
of the McCormick Foundation
- Work with all Communities Program staff to plan and execute annual Communities Program
conference for Communities Program partners
- Work to improve fundraising skills, through conferences, classes and independent study
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Knowledge of fundraising techniques and procedures
- Familiarity with grant making techniques and procedures
- Association of Fundraising Professionals membership preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and writing skills
- Flexible Team Player
- Working knowledge of window applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint,
Excel, and Outlook. Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and NetCommunity experience required
- A minimum of three years development experience
